| Shop Floor Data Collection KeySys represents GraphiTech’s most powerful and accurate
real-time data collection system. By utilizing Bar Code Scanners in a multi-drop network,
we minimize the use of an overly large network as well as providing for fewer errors in
input. Only one terminal is used to drive up to 50 KeySys keypads. And the
system continues to run (and sound a tone) even when the Viewport has been minimized.
Keypad: The Keypad is protected with a
membrane cover and contains provisions for sending messages, using hot keys, bar code
input, receiving messages, entering of materials, and maintaining real-time verification
of entered data. KeySys keypads may be installed flat on a desk or attached
to a wall or post using our acrylic-mounting brackets. A 2-line display of 24 characters
each provides feedback for all data entry. |

| Keypad Response: As the employee enters data, starting with their employee number, the
departmental bar chart to the left will begin to move upwards to indicate the state of
activity in that department. This provides visual feedback to the administrator, and
should all that activity prove distracting, the administrator can simply minimize the
Viewport in order to concentrate on other activities, such as job costing, order entry,
etc. Materials: To enter materials
such as stock, ink, etc., the employee simply hits F4 or Scans Material to Job code. A
request is then made for the employee number, job number, material code and quantity. The
information is displayed in the materials sub-screen as shown here. Note that materials may be sent to
inventory from here as well.
Messages: When required, the employee may
send a message to the administrator to request or provide notification. The message
appears as shown here with a loud tone.
When the message screen is turned off, the remaining message appears in the main message
window of the Viewport. Messages may be sent to various keypads throughout the plant from
the Viewport as well.
